Second E-Series up and running

The second edition of the Football West E-Series gets under way today with around 200 players again looking to become FIFA20 champions.

And the first live streamed match will be shown HERE at 1pm, between SMPwolf (Port Kennedy) and BallerLFC (Inglewood United).

The E-Series tournament is open to all WA residents and will again be played in four conferences – PS4 Junior, PS4 Senior, Xbox Junior and Xbox Senior.

The main difference this time is that teams will be split into groups with a round-robin format, which guarantees that each competitor will get to play a minimum of five matches.

COMPETITION RULES

The top two from each group will advance to the second stage, when the tournament becomes a straight knockout.

The winner from each group will play a second-place finisher from a different group in the first knockout round.

Three of the four champions from the first edition will defend their titles – Perrin-7 (PS4 Junior), BWA Equity (Xbox Junior) and Dexchelsea11 (PS4 Senior).

Football West Head of Development Alex Novatsis said he was looking forward to an even bigger and better tournament than the successful maiden competition.

“It’s really taken off and it’s here to stay on the Football West calendar,” he said.
